Re: Dynomax VT mufflers

I have experienced none and I have 3:45's in the car, traveling 55-65 is usually the sweet spot for drone as it is with the B&B in my other ZR-1 and ZR-1 previous to that. I did a lot of research before I jumped in the pool, Dynamax has a great lifetime warranty, if they malfunction, they will replace. They are made of Stainless. Only heard of 1 internal failure and it was on their first batch the made, they changed something and have not heard of any since. I like the fact that in inlet and outlet are dead center so when you really get aggressive with the loud pedal, its straight through and 3" all the way through and gets rid of the spent stuff quickly. I've got a total of about $800 tied up in the exhaust and all pipes are stainless and all are Mandrel bent and that includes the price of the tips I installed on the end of the mufflers. Car seems to have more torque on the low end due to added back pressure while the flapper is in the closed position diverting spent gasses through the chambered sections of the muffler. All I can say is I'm glad I went this way with this one and I have another one on the horizon when I replace my B&B on my 91. |

Actually I found a place on flea bay that sells various size Corsa "Clone" tip arrangements. Yes, the ones I used have a 3" single leading to a "Y" into the dual 4" Stainless tips, welded the tips to t mufflers and they look like they were made that way. The 4" dual tip outlets are a little more impressive then the ones found on a Actual Corsa which are only 3" and fill up the exhaust cutouts on the bumper cover. |

System is 3" from front to back with hand fabricated X pipe, Don't have a link but you can search on Corsa Clone and find them either on google or flea bay. When I got these, one tip pertruded a little further the the other on both sides (one was for right, one was for left side) as these were intended for late model Firebirds with the rounded rear bumper, All I did was took out a 1" section from the longer tip and welded it back together. I had a local shop do the mandrel bending and install, their labor was included in the final price Last edited by zrwhat; 05-31-2014 at 12:23 AM. |
