I used Redline 10W40 in my first two ZR-1's but haven't decided on an oil yet for our 94. Amsoil is a strong possibility since my oil change shop is a dealer.

AMSOIL.......I have used it in everything since 1993 with good results....I am however using Z-Rod, which is probably not what everyone else is using in AMSOIL.

In the Z? Any synthetic.
I owned a fleet for courier & delivery. They got whatever was on sale. When oil gets changed every 3 weeks (5k), it doesn't matter too much... |

because the number is bigger. Must be better
![]() Seriously I use 10w30 with two qts of 10w40. Just seems to quiet the CTT noise better.

GM also recommended 5W-30 and my 90 would burn a quart of that every 600 miles. Switching to 10W-40 reduced consumption to about one quart every 1,200 miles and also quieted down the CTT rattle considerably.
