Default Any Tire Recomendations

Tires on my recent purchase are 9-10 years old about 1/2 tread left. Not using car on Drag strip just Summer weather cruising around town. Will need to replace soon. Can I get some recommendations? I see prices all over the map.

Jeff,
Are your tires P275/40ZR17 and P-315/35ZR17? If so the Michelin site say they are not available any more.

Actually they are 18s

Do they have PS2?

If not I think Nitto still has the 555 which also is a nice tire I had those on my 89

If PS2's and Nittos are better than Vredisteins ultrac then prove it. Because Vreds have blown all those tire rack possers away and only cost $845 shipped. Y rated for 186mph and 280 AA/A which is the highest traction you can get. I get tired of hearing the plugs for Nittos and Sport pilots without any mention of the tire that is their fiercest competition for far less. The price on them has been going up steadily since their introduction and won't be cheap forever but they are more than worth mentioning while they are half the price of the tire rack darlings.

I have never used Vredisteins, So I could not comment on those.. I commented on what I have used in the past and current

I paid around $900 for the Nittos.. but that was back in 2004 I think

I paid $500 for my Michelin Pilot Sports (they had less then 3K miles on them)

My pilot sports are 275/35 and 335/30 both 18s, yes I got a killer deal

Well Kevin you know I'm not a new comer to this site. And I've had many different tires on the Z. So If I say they are very impressive tires you should probably pay attention. Sorry but you will have to foot the bill for them yourself. I don't plug for them for the way they look. It's for the way they handle and grip. Also for the way they perform at top speed with our cars most of which don't even reach the speeds these tires are made for anyway. PS2's and Nittos are top tires. But so are Vreds. So if getting the most for your money matters to you then I highly suggest them. I've personally tested them and put my life in their hands more than once and made it home for dinner. I don't spend twice as much on a tire of the same performance just because 5 dudes with ZR-1's I know have them. Especially when those 5 dudes have never even taken their precious ZR-1's above 110mph or drifted in them with complete control. I'm just saying. It's your decision. I'm just giving you more options.
