Default Haibeck, tuned, it's back, Ready for Bowling Green

I thought i'd post some thoughts on my car, how little things can go oh so wrong, and my general state of address:

2 weeks ago i drove my Zr1 to Marc Haibeck, in Chicago, I wanted to get
4:10 viper gears..Keyless Entry, re-locate air temp sensor, one of Marc's chips..(yes, they are worth it) and for him to just fix any small problems,
that he came across, simply said, I trust the man. Yesterday, I flew up,
my arms are still tired, and drove her home. And now am wondering WHY i didn't install 4:10 viper gears before. I am more than happy. After breaking the new gears in by varing my speed and driving.
I am one happy camper. Night and Day. Feels like i have added at least
50 hp.
Marc found 3 vacuum leaks -fixed- I had a problem of some sort in
the transmission, wrong fluids..-fixed- plus the slave cylinder was leaking
badly, replaced, along with a new clutch. i had him install his air duct support hoops and fasten the air box, which allowed me to keep the
stock accordian.fixed
Keyless entry works great...open the hatch and doors with a push of a button, and it makes a little honk and lights flash..nice.
replaced one bad oxygen sensor and he found both cables melted and replaced..fixed...headlight motors...fixed. removed the air pump..10 lbs. gone...re-aligned my exhaust, it seems the shop that installed had the 2 pipes from the cats to the muffler's were upside down and on the wrong side...i was gonna remove the cats and sell them to a friend..but now
need them to make the length of the pipes look right. he sealed the left header stud...& re attached my shifter boot that had come loose.
damn...I had asked Marc, if he ran across any things to fix em
"Like It was His car" and he did...kudo's to Marc, great work, thanks Bro.

the chip made my car idle..really smooth, Marc said as any he's worked on
might be the because mine is an Early production car, #74, built
in august of 89. No more backfires, no high idle..now a real pleasure to
drive...

If you ever engage the security system..and it honks and flashes for like
3 minutes in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart
.a keyless fob will not stop it
from honking...you must put the key in the door..

I'm really looking forward to Bowling Green, I may not be the fastest.
but after my drive yetereday...who gives a fat rats...azz.

i called mark yesterday to order the chip and he told me someone just left his shop from missouri (some crazy guy)...... now i know! i also asked about the gears and he told me they were not viper gears (because of the cost) but they are basically the same thing and just as good. sounds like your pleased with the gears and it sounds like mr. haibeck can finally put in that swimming pool cant wait to check it all out at B.G.

uuuhhhh...i'm glad you brought that subject up Bobby..

roof panel.. you had, on you're car...
i told Marc, he probably would like to brag he has the only
convertible Zr1 in Minnesota..and those damn rocker panels..well
i thought with the clearance problems...and all you wouldn't miss em.

It was a sight to behold...3 white zr1's in one shop, at the same time.
your's almost complete..another from missouri, almost complete..and

What is the general turn around on his work there, is it possible to drive up and stay with the car or are we talking 7-10 days of work? Depending on what you have done ofcourse.

Best thing to do is call Marc and schedule an appointment.

I'm sure you could if you were getting headers or something like that installed

Marc is putting headers on mine as we speak. Marc told me the lead time for headers is getting longer (I think he said 4-6 weeks). He then has them coated and then shipped to him. I really don't know how long it takes to tune them once installed.
