If you want the panel painted I would suggest taking your car to a shop that can image the color to get a perfect match. If Dave paints the panel chances are the color wont match.

any idea on how much the top will weigh??
costs about the same as a CF hood. sure would look cool, and it's not a bad price either. like to see them do this, but unfortunately "I'm out" for now as I just dropped big $$ at carlisle |

I am told a gallon of the clear coating (used on CF) is 60K, so unless the roof producer was using the coating regularly, adding the coating would probably make the top unfeasible. I am not sure exposed CF on the exterior would stand up well, and it certainly would not look as good as the unpainted (but coated) parts do on the ZR1 and other high-end vehicles. |

Has there been an estimate of the weight differential between this and the stock part? Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't imagine more than a one or two pound difference. Is that cost effective?
Consider that, (unless you are using a damaged donor panel), you'd be spending $6-7 hundred for a donor panel, then paint. You're pushing $3K before it's done. |

if it's the same weight as the one that one of the major parts houses had at carlise 3 years ago it's substantial weight savings.

But if reduced weight is ostensibly the reason for the new part. Why does no one seem to have an accurate number?
Is the tinted plastic panel, which I don't have, the lightest available panel available now? If so, then it would seem as if the difference in weight between the CF piece and the tinted plastic piece would be your CF weight advantage. The frame being the same, how could that be more than a couple of pounds. |

I have both tops right now, so I don't need a third. It's a good idea but not worth the price to me, it might look okay just cleared. I can't see it being much lighter than the acrylic top either.

I will call Davey tomorrow and find the weight difference with the C6 tops.
