Also packing a 2006 GTO spare + AAA.
Use a 1.5" spacer to clear the C6 J51 brakes up front.
Concerns about old rubber was also one of the reasons for switching to the GTO spare.

Funny you mention that. I pulled my spare yesterday just to see what I would need to do to fit the Z06 brakes. NO AIR! Didn't look like the spare had ever been dropped since new. It was in good shape, just flat. Wouldn't be worth much on the road.

Maybe but with the weak supports and fiberglass (?) cover one good hit and I'm sure that it would all just crumble and be of minimal if any help.

True David! But I always carry a tire repair kit and portable inflator so I think that would do the trick.

Wasn't Robert DeMarco looking in to having these reproduced?

Mine appeared to never had been dropped as well. Tire was in great shape but with a significant crease on one side. Had the markings in chalk "6- ZR-1" on the side. Tire bag was present. It was all pretty dirty and dusty but cleaned up very easily.

I believe I am going to keep mine off for the meantime in order to do some detailing and install the new B&B. Its not a daily driver so I'm feeling safe for my little cruises around town. Thanks for all you guys thoughts on the subject.

if anyone needs a spare that came with my 95 ZR-1 please let me know

need $50 for it. I have the big brakes up front and don't carry it anymore

I'm running the "run crap" EMT tires (and yes I've had TWO flats)

let me know if you need it, I can bring it to carlisle

Never mounted the front. May need the spacer for that as well. Just haven't has the time to test fit. I did increase the diameter of the hub hole.

AAA solves all my problems with a flat though.

Maybe you should take a ride in my car and see if you like the Z06 tips for cruise before going back to stock exhaust.
Hi Dom--
Not a bad idea but since I still have my stock exhaust at Marc's I thought I would try that. Even without cats the stock system should be quiet enough. We'll see. I never seem to stand still when it comes to exhausts Bob
