Default Is this possible to swap?

I know Im new but I have a couple questions and figured Id ask them here if people knew anything about it or someone who might.

I would like to know basically if the LT1 and LT5 share the same engine mounts/locations.
Also I need to know if the zr1 had a different style guage cluster than the normal corvette? Basically Im wanting to swap an Lt5 into a trans am but want to know what im getting myself into first. The trans am is LT1 based so Im thinking it wont be too hard entirely, just would like some help from people who have been around the lt5 more than me.

Thanks

the hardest part of it all is finding an LT-5! and yes they do have different clusters than the lt-1. never seen a swap into a TA, but would be interesting for sure. my advice is sell the TA for a down payment on a ZR-1!

I agree. Sell the T/A, use the money you would have spent on an LT-5 and buy a Z. I think this will be the least expensive method in the long run, and in the end you will have a genuine ZR-1 instead of a T/A with an LT-5 in it. The ZR-1 will be worth more. ZR-1's are still fairly inexpensive and it's still a good time to buy, so this would likely be the better option unless you just really, really want something completely different.

Unless you already have the LT5 to stuff under the T/A's hood, it's probably not a cost effective swap.

For the money you'd spend on a LT5 and stuffing it into your T/A you could buy a REAL ZR1.

If you're stuck on keeping your T/A and modding it, it would probably be cheaper for you go out and buy a brand new LS2 and get similar HP/Torque performance as the LT5.
Not as pretty or as cool, but much easier to do and cheaper to mod to get even more HP.

Heck, if you *REALLY* want to be different, put a Viper V10 under the hood. You'd really twist the frame with that!!!

I saw a Volkswagon with a Jet engine... ever consider a turbine?

i agree with tom...that swap would probably a nightmare to make everything work properly...probably cheaper to muscle up your lt1

also i was thinking about it.... didn't they have trouble at first getting the LT5 into the vette. thats why they had to redesign the plenum and not to mention how wide it is. think i read that in the bible( heart of the beast). next question
