They know you have a permit before approaching the car. And you're suppose to volunteer the info before being asked. They are not only completely legal to own down here but with training legal to carry. You just NEVER want to let someone see it unless you're going to use it.

I never get pulled over because I am always very careful to obey all traffic laws.
![]() In Indiana, I don't believe there is language in the carry permit that requires the handgun to be concealed. I have seen non-LEO citizens with open view side-arms in our local diner recently. And fine by me. |

In NH anybody can carry openly. But you better have a concealed carry permit if that weapon is not in plain view.

In Idaho you only need to let an officer know if you are packing. As others have mentioned, they already know if you have a permit before they approach.

That's a great law. That's actually the way it should be everywhere. I think that's called Open Carry.

Yeah, my best friend has a farm in Charlestown. I go up every year for a week of sledding (except last year when we had more snow is Texas than you guys did!). The year before we rode almost 500 miles in a week and I was completely toast. Couldn't use my right thumb for a month. Loved it.

My brother has a place in Pittsburg NH. It is the very top of the state and is the biggest town in the US. We go up a coupel time a year and for sleddin'. If you're ever interested, let me know. -Steve
