Winter Project (Phase 1)
Well I guess you can call it a winter"ish" project due to the fact that here in Louisiana we get to drive our cars year around. This project started at the end of August and on the drive to garage where the project would be performed, she rolled 56k miles.
Phase 1: Powder coating engine FIC SS injectors Stainless bolts Secondaries removed Charcoal system removed Top end gasket set from Jerry's Chip tune by Pete And can't forget lots of cleaning Engine before pic: Let the tear down begin... The pile of parts is growing...

Secondary removal:
Pulling the butterfly shaft wasn't too bad once we cut a piece of metal pipe to about 1.5"; and used a nut, washer, and socket to pry the bearing out. Freeze plug where butterfly shaft was located |

Re: Winter Project (Phase 1)
While waiting for engine parts to return from powder coating, we had a chance to clean whole front end of the car.
Parts have arrived! Had the stainless steel air box powder coated to match... |

Re: Winter Project (Phase 1)
Phase 1 complete!
It took about 6 weeks from tear down to first start up. We changed oil and went for drive about 3 am Saturday morning, sleep 2 hrs and then headed to car show an hour away in Lafayette, LA. My Z ended up being selected 2nd in C4 category, 1st being a red/red 96 lt4 car (he had car super clean). Group of 4 that drove down for show. It was a long project but well worth it. Many thanks to Daniel Mcguffee, Pete, Jerry at http://jerrysgaskets.com/ and Mike at http://www.thepowdercoater.com/ Phase 2 should be starting before Christmas: DRM Coilovers 32mm front and 26 mm rear sway bars R&D frame brace

CJ, congrats on a job well done! Daniel is a great guy to have help, but you already knew that!
Can't beat Pete and Jerry. So many great people on the forum. Great to see the Brotherhood in action. Beautiful Z, BTW. Brett

You need a little CT Machining bling on that bad boy. Throttle body plates are in stock and coolant pipes can be a one day turnaround along with what ever else you want that I make or your imagination can produce. Nice looking job you did, Carter
