OK, it's the slave that's bad ...
As soon as I loosened the bolt and nut holding the slave into the housing, some fluid dripped out. (I assumed incorrectly that since there's no gasket there, I would see fluid if the slave was leaking inside the housing.) Something doesn't look right here ... My plan is to order a 1990 cylinder from Jim at Power Torque systems as my line looks better than I thought. My line has some kind of external black coating on it until about 2" before the fitting on the slave. I don't know what this is, but I think it's all OK. The master has been replaced in the past (it has the 3/8" flange characteristic of the aftermarket master cylinders). |

There have been write-up concerning the geometry of the shaft being off.
