Default 90-91 Radiator Hose Kit $140.00...hmmm

Found this ad on my local Kijiji site for $170.00 or $140.00 on Bonanza. I'm suspecting that these probably aren't OEM fitment. But I figured I'd post in case someone want to pick up a set.

He's also got them posted on Bonanza..

They look strikingly similar to "close to OEM" set that I had purchased off ebay at one time. Some pictures to show the comparison between my OEM take offs and the "close to OEM". I ended up going with Samco's in the end.

Send it back. It's not OEM and marked so in the ad

I never bought a set from this guy on Kijiji. They just look very very similiar to a set that I had purchased off ebay a while ago. Although, with the set I had purchased he did stipulate that they were "close to OEM". I'm just curious if this is the same guy who had sold me my set on ebay...or maybe he bought a set and is now trying to flip them.

They could very well be legit OEM hoses, but they sure have bends similar to the ones in my pictures.

I bet the story about the "shop going out of business" is BS. Even the LT5-dedicated shops won't keep 50 sets of hoses on hand.

Sounds like someone with distributor pricing is buying the hoses that Marc Haibeck sells (which are close but apparently not "exact"), and marking them up (not that there's anything wrong with that - just seems disingenuous to call them OEM).

I just finished changing my 6 coolant hoses and I had to go back with normal
type hoses. I still got an order with Kurt for the black samco hoses but I needed
to change because I don't trust the originals.

The top 3 hoses hoses I got from the local auto parts but had to trim to fit but
worked out ok. They all had listings for these 3 but no body had any listings
for the water pump and the drop down hose from the pipe to the thermostat
housing. the short straight hose I had from GM. I was getting frustrated with
not being able to find these local when my friend Dean who works for a local
truck heavy parts company suggested he does business with goodyear belts
and hoses and if I gave him the GM #'s he would see what he could come up
with.

Well his guy came up with their crossover #'s for the 2 I was missing the water pump and the drop down from the top pipe to the thermo housing, so Dean ordered them. It took a couple days but they were exact fit no triming
at all. The water pump hose even had the protective wrap on too. The only thing I did do was use the wire inside the original water pump hose and install
it in the new hose because it doesn't come with the new hose.

I feel better now that the hoses are fresh again but still want the samco ones.

Here are the goodyear crossover numbers;

GM# 10157990>>>>> 66057 (water pump)
GM# 10135661>>>>> 64303 (drop down to thermostat housing)

I hope this helps somebody too...jim
