Default OBX exhaust question

Gentleman , I am to the point of getting my OBX exhaust . But I do have a question. Will it cause the car to sound like its popping ( like the old glasspacks used to sound like ) when you let off the gas ? why I am asking is because I had an 88 Z51 and changed the Cat and both mufflers - I was terrible !!! I dont want that to happen on my Z..... Thanks for any help

First, I recommend that you send your prom (I think this is a correct term) chip to Mrac Haibeck to remap based on having headers (and perhaps free-flow exhaust) installed resulting in better flow.

When you do this request that he program the chip to avoid decel-popping. My understanding is the popping comes from lean mixture when in decel.
I have OBX headers and exhaust w/ reprogramed chip and I get zero popping.
You may also consider lower temp fan on, 1-4 shift defeat, etc...

hummm OK , for now I was going to just get / install the exhaust and get the headers later, so will I need the prom thingy reprogrammed for that? or I guess I could just wait until I get the whole system and put it all on at once...
Thanks for the help...

I talked to marc about this and you don't need a retune for just the exhaust, headers yes. you can also have the chip done for headers and not put them on yet. won't cause any issues

OK , I appreciate all the help I'll probably order the exhaust next week , and put it back for later, then when I have the extra coins , I'll send the prom ...then the headers. 1 step at a time , and little by little..
I'm sure I'll be needing Marc's contact info again when ready ..
Thanks again Amigos
