So our cars are worth nothing. So what! They're worth something to me.

Unless the motor is toast, some one got a great deal. Okay, maybe some cash has to be put into her for maintenance items at that mileage....but a metallic turquoise is still a looker & how bad a condition could she be mechanically? I'd take a chance at that price if I wanted to buy a Z.

that almost makes the TT 368 going for 42 or 44 not hurt as much

Ah.."WORTH" and "PRICE"...the conundrum of the ages!

Then again there's the ol' "BARGAIN". A bargain is nothing more than a selling price anomaly - a distortion resulting from the force(s) of extenuating circumstances of the sale at particular time and place.

IMO, it would be a mistake to make too much out of that one particular selling point. I don't like it either - far as it goes. But, one (selling) point does not a trend make! (thank heaven).

my houses aren't worth anything either. lucky I still like em.

that's the way I feel about the LSV ZR-1

I'm not selling it, I'm driving it, and it's worth it's weight in gold to me and they are pretty heavy.

the ZR-1 and all hot cars are a hassle sometime but it's worth it to drive a cool car and all the time.

I sometimes commute in my daughters mazda protege when it rains and I think, "life it too short to drive junk, even in the rain"

my ZR-1 is a "high miler" at almost 80k, and one of the highest mile LPE LSV cars. not many of the stroker guys drive their cars. I say "buy a poster" it's cheaper. I drive em.

How about the '95 Black / Black that went for $22,500 at the auction? The paint was in great condition, the interior looked great. I do not know what the mileage was, in any case someone got a great deal. It's not what they sold for, but the enjoyment you get out of owning one. As stated, houses aren't worth what they used to be either. Someday, the prices will creep up, I read a story about a low mile Chevette going for 7k and a Pinto going for $7.5k go figure. the worth is in the value of one who is buying and one who is selling.

If this was 6 months ago, I would have been willing to pay $23k for that 95 with 40,000 miles. I think others may have also been willing to bid in a sane range that still represents a fair deal (less than $25k), but it seems to me that not too many buyers for C4 Z's showed up with money to spend and a couple of people got bargains.

That's how it can go in an auction with no reserve...either way too much or way too low.
