Since the Factory Race Team can't seem to catch BMW yet, they came out with a pretty funny ad, kind of a poke at the ALMS restrictions:

I saw it when watching the World Challenge race. Pretty good commercial, without coming across as whining about the competition. Waaayyyy better than the rocket building one.

The CTS-V coupe race car also has less power than the production car.

I think all-out run what you brung racing died with Can-Am. I suppose F1 has had its day too, though they've always had displacement restrictions. I'd think the durability constraints of endurance racing would be enough of a limit, but that doesn't seem to be true anymore, either.
