Default No heat!

New Zr1 owner here!
It's finally gotten cold enough here in PA to make me want some heat in the vette. Tried it for the first time since buying the car and all I'm getting is cold air. I've been following the service manual's procedures, and so far I've checked the codes at the head unit and nothing shows. I do have tons of AC, but I don't think it is transitioning from AC to heat when the temp is changed to the warmer side. Could this be the programmer?
Help!
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Usually if the programmer looses it's "logic" a simple shut off the car for a minute and then a restart cures that issue. We used to have a write up about that in our collection of TSB's over at the netreg site in the maintenance section.

I'm thinking check for a clogged heater core or a bad motor and or linkage to the mixing door. Stupid question, I mean no offense; but did the heat ever work? The heater hoses are connected properly & not by-passing the core connections? The T-stat is okay? If it gets stuck open you get very little heat, ask me how I know!

Dave,
It could be the programmer, but Tom has you pointed in a better direction to start. Chase those things down first.

If it's heater core you might want to get a ceramic heater in the car with an inverter rather then deal with ripping out your dash lol

Honeywell makes a nice one

What a PITA those things are. They seem to be painful in every vehicle, but the C4's must be near the top of the list.

When I bought my car three years ago the owner had bypassed the heater core. Never figured why. They cut the U shaped hose under the coolant tank. I replaced the hose and have never had a problem in almost three years. Never will understand why they didi it. Check closely that all the hoses are correct..
