Ok, I ordered my headers from ss - ZR-1 Net Registry Forums

Curious about two things;

1: Never having pulled an engine on one of these things, it seems like a pretty straightforward 2 hour or so job. Would it be easier just to pull the engine, go over everything while it is out, install the headers and replace (I have a full shop with lift, hoists, stands, etc.

2: SS told me that all they use for "header gaskets" is red high temp rtv

. I have done a lot of fab on exhaust headers/turbo manifolds, and have never heard of such things. Typically I will purchase metal shim gaskets, or make multi layer ones myself. What do you guys suggest, are they dead on with their suggestion? I am not calling them out for anything, but it just doesn't seem "right" to me, but I do not know much about these engines at this point.
