Default R & R A/C compressor 90Z

Hi guys,

I need some tips from those who have been there & done that! The clutch on my compressor is shot. It makes a noise like a small caliber machine gun when it's engaged and if I try to rotate the pulley with my fingers I can feel "rough spots" or spots where it wants to stop free wheeling. I figure the clutch is going out to lunch. I did some look'in & found a reman'ed unit complete from a guy in Texas on E-Bay for $260 delivered. I ordered it because it has the clutch + pulley mounted, just looks like plug & play.

I looked in the Helm & it seems straight forward. Plus I remember moving it when I did my injectors + breather box gasket. Only thing that threw me abit was Helm says the Oil Tempeture Sender has to be R & R'ed...I don't remember moving that when I went under the plenum!??!

Another Q I have is that my system was converted by the original owner from R-12 to 134A @ the dealer....I should go get the 134A oil to coat the new O-rings or could I just take some oil out of the old compressor to use for that purpose? Oh, yes, does the dealer still sell O-rings or do I have to hunt those up also??

Thanks for any knowledge and any info that ya wanna throw my way!

Oh, totally unrelated subject. Q on zfdoc's beam plates. Does using them in place of what was OE make for an easier re-install of that beam when you put the trans back in???
