Clutch break-in & Tac error Qs?
Item:
New (single mass) Fidanza Al FW, new OEM clutch kit (including an 11" sprung hub and long FW bolts). Q: I understand our clutches (pull type) have some quirks w/ regard to break-in...no? What is the best procedure for breaking in such a setup w/o ruining either the disc or the pressure plate in the process? Tac errors: I've read that the error (reading higher than actual) is common, and once it starts, it tends to just get worse. (Sounds like something breaking down w/ age (heat?); makes me wonder if there isn't an electrolytic capacitor or two in the cluster that is the cause of accuracy to "go south" with time. (typical nature of the beasts).) Q: What is failing, and how big of a deal or $$$ is it to fix? Does the cluster have to come out? TIA, P.
