Haber rj,
I should not stick my nose in here but I can't see you groping around in the dark by yourself! Sooo with a thought of helping out a fellow Z brother I'll offer up some stuff. Parts: partszoneonline.com = P & G Chevy in PA, very good guys + plenty of stock. Also check out the net registry for other parts guys. LT5 Parts.com, KWhiteRacing.com...all these sites are listed over at the registry. zfdoc.com for the transmission. As far as the fuel maps go, look over at Mark Haibeck's site, ZR-1 Specialist.com, for all the theory you need about the programing on the PROMs. You will learn alot by reading his stuff! It's like taking an introductory course on ECM theory! The secondary vacuum system parts can be had from P & G and KWRacing, between the two you can get all new stuff to put into a restoration of the system. I dealt with P & G and KWR & got everything I needed. The trick is to have the part numbers, I bought a CD/ROM & use it to get the P/N's and then I go to P & G's site and plug them in to check avalibility. Even if the P/N's are superceeded you can call them and they will go thru it on the phone. Those guys are swell to deal with. The stuff that is NLA you have to go to KWR to get. Oh, I forgot this, KWR now has the parts book pages so you can look up the P/N's or they sell the CD. Just a side note on injectors. If the coils fail the inj's don't fire and those cyls will be lean. The ECM will richen up the working inj's to compensate using the info from the O2 sensors. Therefore the scan tool will tell you that the car is rich and your nose might tell you the car is lean. If they leak, as in don't close then the nose or the plugs are gonna tell you that. I don't know what the scan tool would give as data in that case as only my 2* inj's were leaking. Oh, this info only comes up in "closed loop" operation. Sorry to be so long. I hope this helps alittle. Don't sell the Z because you think parts are the problem, specially not the small stuff under the plenum. That stuff can be had factory fresh in the boxes! Good luck, ![]() Tom
