I can't remember where I saw / or heard but some one recently had the same issue at the machine crimps or at the plastic ends or both. Marc Haibeck told them to cut the crimps/plastic ends off and use hose clamps to re-configure the whole assembly. I may have over heard that at BG this yr?
I saw that piece on e-bay & was thinking of bidding. Then I remembered the answer from Marc. I figured that if it came to it I would just re-run it using heater hose & ideal clamps as a replacement for the entire OE assembly. I know I just suggested the "backyard / shade tree" way, but mine is never going back to the showroom anyway.
I'm a second owner too ![](images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif) ...the O.O. changed the coolant and oil every year. I was lucky as it only had 7400 on the clock when i got it. I guess I'm an "almost first owner"......I couldn't afford to pay attention when these cars were new! ![Sign10](images/smilies/sign10.gif)

I had in mind a new set of hoses so I don't become a hose "expert" but even if I fixed mine, I don't think I could go the butcher route. Big Pita is removal and reinstalation and of course while you are there, a new heater core is in line. The horror, the horror !!!
