I was thinking that when I get around to the headers to keep the stock mufflers and just substitute an LT4 resonator into the existing plumbing. I figure that it may breath better and not have any annoying resonance at cruise in 6th.

I doubt that it will be anywhere near an optimal system, but then my top end isn't ported. I doubt leaving the OEM mufflers will make it suffer that much. I can't see that a 3" system is needed behind headers on a stock motor. JMHO.
