" SYS " flashing next to fuel bars / mpg

SC UL8R1990 Join Date: Feb 2004 Posts: 36	" SYS " flashing next to fuel bars / mpg What causes the digitial display to flash the letters SYS where it normally shows MPG? I noticed this morning it would flash " SYS " then go back to showing my MPG. It did this my entire drive. any and all help is much appreciated.
