Another item off the "to do" list... painted top restoration>>
When I procured the 1990 ZR-1 I knew the solid top (red) had several scratches for the original owner (I am the third owner now)...there was about a 8" long scratch on the drivers side and a couple marrs and both were "touched up" with you know that OEM touch up paint...suggesting the top was dropped. The second owner (from whom I purchased the car) said he did not correct the scratches as they were part of the 'history' of the car. Well, I simply could not go with the 'scratch pedigree' approach, but at the same time I did not want to do a total repaint type restoration of the top. Fortunately, I am close to Tony’s Corvette which is a NCRS type facility. Short of the long I met with Tony and he said he could ‘blend the paint’ as opposed to a total repaint and also could restore the top liner (a bit of a fabric sag)… well about 6 weeks later I have my top back and a most excellent job..paint is just nicely done and the interior liner is perfect>>>
Tony's Corvette ain't cheap, but they do nice work..
