Default Re: New Tires and Alignment

When I picked up the ?91 #1564 last year it had been sitting 20 years on a lift and the Yokohamas which looked new but were 1995 vintage, were almost square. It was like driving on a corduroy road. So after the mandatory provincial safety inspection,,, yup passed with those tires,,questioning the validity of said inspection process and persons, it was off to Costco for the Michelins as recommended by others here. So far the PS 4s have lived up to claims. Quiet, smooth predictable. They did a good job on the balancing with zero issues. The Costco tire shop guys actually ganged up on the install all wanting to spend time around the car, hood was up and the expected crowd developed. They actually thanked me for brining it in so they could see one up close and left it parked in the shop so no other customers could door ding it or run into it. In aggressive cornering and acceleration in performance mode she will hop sideways occasionally if there is a road dip in the corner but never slide or slip even in damp conditions. Same run in sport mode no sideways hop which confirms selective ride is functioning and I learned something there. All said the PS 4 seems a good option, no complaints here and we live remote with back roads, occasional frost before winter arrives and a long steep, argh,,, gravel driveway. Have not attempted a burnout yet but been above 155 mph more than once which is still a one handed affair on the wheel with the other hand continuously trying to wipe the smile off my face. It?s a long wait till April around here so we get by on member driving videos and LT 5 sounds for now.
