Carlisle 23 and new friends..
I'll start at the beginning. This year was the Wil Cooksey 427 15th anniversary gathering at Carlisle. Early in the year I acquired a ZR-1 2815 but I was already committed to the 427 Anniversary. Once on site, lo and behold we both shared the same lot space. Cooksey to west and ZR-1 to the east. The 1st person I meet was Pres Mark Horner and in minutes we were like the best friends who haven't seen each other in years. It was amazing how many things we had in common, from racing and especially the hard coal region of PA. He from Pottsville PA and Me the Hazleton area. In fact, the next 4 folks I met were all born in that region. Thats probably why we all got along so easily.
What a fantastic group of people. It was such a fun time I hated to leave but living so far away I needed to get an early start as that 45 minute drive through the woods to home is just so exhausting! As the saying goes it was a good time for all. I just cannot say enough how great this group is. Hope to see you all again someday. Thank you all and especially whoever made that wonderful BBQ! Thank you all again. Jim Facinelli Last edited by rufcar; 08-28-2023 at 08:57 PM. Reason: Spelling |
