Catalytic Converter Cylinder Damage
I ran across a thread a while back that discussed this. The issue was cylinder damage due to catalytic converter dust being making its way back up into the cylinders and causing premature damage to cylinder walls and rings. The solution tossed about was to remove the headers and core out the converter material or install headers and aftermarket cats. This is not a simple task to say the least. I wanted to float this out to the group to get a better feel regarding this issue. I have a 92 with 22,000 miles on it and am wondering if I really need to add this to my list of future must do projects. Of all the little hidden gremlins that we must worry about being ZR1 owners, this one really snuck up on me and left me feeling like REALLY?
