DAG Alternative?
So I've been thinking that maybe another way to replace the DAG compound might be by using plain old silicone/RTV...
I used a tiny artist brush and Permatex Red Ultra. As far as sealing the air gaps, it did well. Silicone sticks to the aluminum very well it seems... I painted the RTV on, wiped it off the blades with a Q tip and repeated a couple of times until it there was almost no light coming through. I have it setting up with the throttle blades held open for drying. Is there a reason this wont work and am I over simplifying this? Bad idea, if so why? I dont foresee any ill effects... Heres some pics. The ones with the light behind it, the TB is sitting directly on the light bulb... Last edited by 32valvZ; 01-19-2020 at 02:29 PM. |
