1990 ZR1 3rd brke light paint procedure - ZR-1 Net Registry Forums

I have a 1990 ZR1 with 426 miles that has its entire original paint however I question about the plate that the 3rd light is bolted to. I can tell that the light assembly hasn't been painted though. Does anyone know if PPG painted the plate before bonding it to the hatch glass or is that something GM did.
By the way, do these cars have assembly manuals?
