Group Buy ZR-1 Reproduction Windshields!!!
I had two customers that were searching for replacement windshields for their ZR-1's. As most of you know, these have been unavailable for many years from General Motors. The supply of original windshields seems to all have been spoken for, as those that have new ones hidden away, are not interested in selling them.
Many ZR-1 owners are installing stock C-4 windshields. While these certainly fit, they of course lack the reflective feature needed to maintain proper air conditioning performance in the hot weather, as well as the "garage door opener" cutout. Many say that they just don't look right on our ZR-1's, which is a statement that I agree with. For these reasons many find this a less desirable option.
There is a company in Maryland that has reproduction ZR-1 windshields. The only detectable difference that I could find from a stock windshield is the lack of the L-O-F insignia and date code. There is one other difference, and that is there is no delamination.
The lack of identification on the glass will of course result in points deductions if the car is being judged for originality.
I purchased 10 of these windshields in order to obtain a better price.
Now that my customers needs have been satisfied, I will offer the remaining ones to ZR-1 Registry members at a reduced price.
ZR-1 Windshields in Maryland, the vendor, sells these for $1995.00 plus $275.00 for reproduction weather-strip. There is also a charge for packaging needed to prepare the windshield for shipping or storage for future use, at an additional $200.00.
I will make the remaining ones available to Registry members for $2,000.00 each including the weather-strip and packaging.
That is $470.00 less than the current vendor pricing!
You may either pay to have them shipped to your location, pick them up here at Conte's yourself, or if you prefer, bring your ZR-1 here and have it professionally installed for extra cost.
I have both early and late cutouts ready to go, today.
I find the optical quality of the glass to be second to none. No distortion, discoloration, cloudiness, or dreaded delamination.
