I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to the engine bay.

Has anyone found a method/chemical/spray etc that works well on the engine itself? I have small "stains" that are here and there from what appears to be oil.

I've tried Simple Green, Purple power and a few other bio degradable products.

The only thing that seems to work is Acetone. I'll be happy to use it, but when I rub it on the covers or manifold "silver" comes off on the rag, so I worry about damage.

Anyone had success with something else?
