Duh!
Well, it was a Sunday morning that was clear with no rain.
Last big show of the season. Over 200 Corvettes at a place called Smithville, a cute little shopping town 5 miles west of Atlantic City, NJ. Have been going to this show since 1991! My wife did not want to go; no problem, I understand. My brother did not want to come up from his shore home nearby either. ok. My son and trusty co-pilot all of these years, is now 16, and 6'3" 255 and a junior and Offensive Lineman, who needed rest today.... OK 21 cars and 42 members of my local Corvette club were all down in Ocean City Maryland for a HUGE 3 day event, so get the picture? I was on my own! Get all ready. Load the car. Odd the remote did not unlock the car. Well, maybe I toggled it off to stop the incessant lock/ unlock cycle. No, that was not it. Disconnected the battery tender, which it had been on for two weeks. Unlike Carlisle, where the battery freakin died. got in. turned key. NOTHING! How could this be? New battery from Carlisle. Battery tender for tow weeks. WT heck? Checked the cables. All seemed good. Took out my frozen waters. Figured, OK, that is life, I have plenty to do at home. Went back again. Shook negative cable. Tight. Cut off. Tight. Positive cable uh , positive cable.................... twisted and heard the key buzzer sound and courtesy lights come on. Got battery wrench Tightened. GOOD TO GO! Had a wonderful day. Sunny! HOT! Saw lots of friends! Even got a Trophy! Cleaned the car. Spent quality time with friends and cleaning the car!!! A GREAT DAY after all! Very glad I did not throw in the towel earlier! Marty |
