Another Successful Haibeck Upgrade
Thumbs up to Marc Haibeck for the great job just completed on my '93. Installed my custom cams, ported the heads and repainted the top end. Short block remains completely stock (350 CI). Already had siamesed plenum and IH' s, SW headers and exhaust. Stock flywheel and clutch.
Pulled 453 RWHP in 95 deg. humid air. Should be good for 465+ in good air and with a little more fine tuning. And the icing on the cake - 25.8 MPG on the return trip to PA (4.10 gears)! No loss of driveability except at dead idle in a traffic jam (has a great "choppy" idle in Marc's words) but very manageable. The engine finish is flawless. And thanks to Carter Thompson and Jerry's for the bits of bling that help accent the metallic gray. Hopefully the attached photo comes thru to give you a better appreciation for the outcome. Marc's attention to detail and quality of work are over the top! Not the quickest turnaround on the planet (four months) but absolutely worth the wait!
