Window Switch Repair
Sharing some pics after repairing my intermittent passenger side power window switch.
Disassembly is straight forward and fairly obvious. The switch itself “snaps” out of the door panel, then pull the 2 harness connectors out of the hole far enough to disconnect them. Remove the switch with the 2 short pigtails. Now on the bench, need to remove the 6 wire terminals (take note of the wire colors and positions) unsolder the capacitor, remove the 1/8 turn bulb with holder, then remove 2 screws to remove the outer case. Next remove the up/down lever assembly by unlatching the 4 small latches. The 2 latches on the right hand side in the picture are hard to access so I used a utility knife to shave the corner off allowing an opening for a very small screwdriver to pop the latches. There are no springs to pop out just the loose contact wipers which come out and allow cleaning. You can see how dirty mine were. After cleaning, add some dielectric grease to the contacts, lever and reassemble. Seems to be a limit of 5 pics. I will post last 2 on next post
