On my new to me 47k mile 1991, I took note of the injectors. Well, at least the one that was easy to see. On the top, it was etched 5235357. Looking at it, it looks like the stock injector, but there was a red o-ring on the lower groove. From what I've seen of photos, the original ones didn't have anything there. I didn't check the PN on all of them since they're not accessible.
Should I be budgeting for injectors soon and mentally prepping myself for a plenum removal, or are these rebuilds/newer ones? The car's not exhibiting any of the symptoms of shorted or leaking injectors.....it's pretty smooth when cold and hot. I drove it quite a bit this last weekend......between running around town, a trip to work, and driving it back from CO, I put about 700 miles on it including the 600 mile trip back. Even toward the end of the long trip, it was dead smooth starting up and pulling away from rest stops. According to the Carfax, the car had 19k on it in 1994 and the rest of the mileage was pretty evenly spread out until about 2010 when only a thousand or so was put on since. It passed CO emissions up until it was no longer required. I would think after around 30k miles of alcohol'ed gas running through it, if the injectors were going to act up, they would've already.
