Thank you Kevin! The only reason the OE liners were coated was because they were aluminum, too soft to put our rings against? I get it now...well sort of, I think.


Okay, sorry for cluttering up your thread Daryl.
I'm thinking that with new steel(?) or cast iron liners (?) liners you buy new pistons with a matched set of new rings which eliminates the problem of finding stock rings that don't exist? Jez, I'm getting lost on this stuff! Or at least I feel like I am!

The motor in my 72 LT-1 was soooo much easier to do! LOL
