If your amps work right, the Bose sounds OK, but I wouldn't compare it to newer highend cars. Part of the suck is that the vette interior isn't the best acoustical compartment, but anyhow...
Bose amps cost a fortune so I repaired my own. it was fun and a bit of a treasure hunt to find used ones in the junkyard. some Nissans have them. the post below is from the other place and contains a link right back here at the Registry (which has the most comprehensive write up). click here If you want easy, I'd take the Nissan Maxima/Infiniti clone front & rear amps and use those for C4 front & rear amps because the speaker sizes are similar. Some will be bad, so get two cars worth. I only spent $15 or so to get spares. I personally plucked parts off my Nissan ones, but they sounded the same to me when I tested it beforehand.
