In August of 2002 I became the 4th owner of 1990 ZR-1 #2562. The car was in pretty bad shape and had just over 90K miles on the clock.

Many hours and $$$ later...the Atomic Z was born.

Fast forward to yesterday. Out of the blue I receive an email from someone that says they were the original owner of 2562 and that they have many items that belong with the car.

I spoke with the original owner today, Don. Very nice guy. We talked about the history of the car, purchased new in California in 1990 for $10,000 over sticker and moved to Oregon and sold in 1994 with 5,xxx miles on the clock. Don lost track of the car and yesterday while going through a bunch of boxes he found all the items that go with the car. He sat down and made it his mission to find the car.

Long story short Don is boxing up all the items and sending them to me. No charge...It seems after all these years Don realized these items belonged to the car not to him. Very cool. After we talked and I told him of the condition of 2562 when I took ownership, he realized he waited for the right owner to have the car.

The call made my day. Thanks Don for still being a brother of the beast!!
