Seat question......

Passenger seat won't move horizontally. Motor turns the cable fine, but the cable end slips, ratchets, does not operate properly on the other side closest to the door. Other two up and down operations work great. Question; can this be rebuilt or serviced? I gave it some help on the drive bar, and it caught for a little bit, but then probably hit the bad spot again. How is the best way to fix? I can't seem to figure out how to get the middle drive bar out. Do I have to replace the whole assembly, motor, transmission, and all? Seems like a waste. Manual doesn't break it down that far as I can tell.
