Dyno readout ambiguity
For fun, I washed several of the HP datum thru an Excel spreadsheet to see how the dyno's torque vs. hp was tracking across the rpm band. Eyeball error included, it appeared to me the variance (actual vs. calculated) was as from zero to as much as 2-3% variance between HP readings vs. torque, measured across the rpm band out to 7000. (the error was near zero at 7000 rpm, if I recall correctly.) This amounts to something like 6-12 hp error range from 300 to 400 hp engine output.
Y'all will have to draw your own conclusions, but it appears the question of dyno accuracy/comparison ambiguity is still among us. FWIW, P. |
