Re: 2024 NCRS National Convention
Thank you for sharing the pictures! Great event but bad timing to get there.
I just got back from a trip which included stopping at the museum Sunday (yes I saw and appreciated your car and showed my family the story of your bringing it back to life while we were eating at the Stingray Grill). That was the one thing I looked forward to seeing the most while I was there (because I knew it was there)... too bad I missed the '89! Huge thrill and an aside, my son and I met the Director of the Plant (Ray Theriault) as we drove by the plant for a short time Sunday afternoon about 1:45PM. We took pictures of his car (red mist Z06), he remote started it (scared us half to death!) and came out to say hello. He gave my son a Hotwheels C7. I was proudly wearing my yellow C4 ZR-1 t-shirt... he noted that, and asked if I'd seen the new one... I confirmed I had, and noted mine "only" had 405HP - he said I needed to upgrade. I told him I'd love to but needed to see what the price is... no response on that one. Not likely affordable for me, but, cool. On a related note, the yellow C4 in the pictures I believe is also a yellow/beige/LT4 (one of 16 total and one of eight with FE1 suspension), with ~38k miles. The owner has detailed bringing it up to NCRS specs on the Corvetteforum. I definitely admire you all who can put in the effort to keep or bring the cars to NCRS levels. My cars are low-mile (5900 and 17k respectively) but the task to get them to NCRS definitely seems daunting! Thanks again - Love the pictures! Mike
