Default SOLD: 1990 Corvette ZR-1 with 35,467 miles

***SOLD***

Hello everyone! Up for sale is a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 in black over black with 35,467 miles. I am asking $19,000 for this car. I am located in Warrenton, VA. Please see the pictures in the imgur link at the bottom of this post.

Brief history:
I purchased this Corvette from the previous owner on 9/16/2017. At the time, it had 31,654 miles. The owner provided the following information about the car to me:
- Both fuel pumps had been replaced within the last 2,000 miles (These have since been replaced again as the ones that were installed were not working properly)
- Corsa exhaust was installed around 2006
- Battery was replaced early 2016 (This was replaced again in 2019 with a higher CCA battery)
- Wheels on the car were replica A-Molds. Seller provided original wheels, but they have some curb damage that would need to be repaired.
- Injectors were original
- Stereo did not output audio. Radio antenna worked without issue.
- Service ride control light came on halfway through test drive.

Today:
Cosmetics:
- Paint looks pretty good for a 30+ year old car and shines up really nice after a wash. There are a few issues, however.
o On the passenger side rear quarter panel, there was some minor damage from a previous owner. This is shown pretty well in the pictures. For the most part, you can?t see it unless pretty close to the car.
o The passenger side mirror has spiderweb paint cracks around it. This only affects the passenger side mirror and is nowhere else on the car. The pictures also show this.
o Typical rock chips on front clip and a few on the lower part of the hood.
- Interior is also pretty clean with the one major exception being the drivers side seat bolster that is very typical to be worn on these Corvettes. This one has definitely seen better days as it has a couple of tears in the lower bolster. Otherwise, the interior is in pretty decent shape.
- Both tops are in good condition with minor scratches as expected of age. The headliner in the painted top has just been replaced and looks great.

Functional:
- Mechanically, the car is in great operating condition with everything working properly. It starts right up and runs without issue. The car feels powerful when the "full power" key is turned on with no hesitation. The clutch and transmission both operate as expected and the stick moves into gear without excess effort.
- The air conditioning blows cold and the heat blows hot. Both are functioning as they are supposed to.
- The tires are in almost new condition with only about 2,000 miles on them. Very grippy and almost all tread remaining.
- The FX3 adjustable suspension works without error. Slight difference in feel between the settings.
- The stereo is Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatible. The audio is good and the antenna works as expected. With the aftermarket stereo, the antenna raises regardless of whether the radio is playing or music is streaming from your phone.

Things I have done during ownership:
- Injectors: Shortly after purchase, the original injectors were obviously not functioning correctly and the car was barely drivable. Replaced all original injectors in September of 2017. New injectors breathed new life into the car.
- Headlights: Headlights were not rotating consistently when the car was first purchased. New brass gears were installed in September of 2017. Headlights now flip consistently and completely.
- Horn: After purchase, during inspection, it was found that the horn did not operate. Replaced the plastic clip inside the steering column which enabled the horn to honk appropriately.
- FX3: During the initial test drive at purchase time, the service ride control light came on. Based on the codes, it identified that the front passenger actuator was not functioning properly. Replaced the actuator and now the FX3 system functions without errors.
- Stereo: Since the original stereo was not working, I decided to replace with an aftermarket unit rather than repair. I went with a Sony unit that is Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatible. I ran all new wiring throughout the car along with the stereo change.
- Tires: Tires on the car were from about 2002 and were hard. The tires had good tread but very little traction. Replaced the tires with Nitto NT555 G2 tires which provided a night and day difference in traction. Tires were replaced in February 2018 at about 33,500 miles. They now only have about 2,000 miles on them. Great condition.
- Battery: At one point in 2018, the car was struggling to turn over if it went longer than about 12 hours between running it. The existing battery had lower CCA than recommended by GM. Replaced the battery with a new one with much higher CCA. The battery has been functioning flawlessly since.
- Spark and Fuel:
o Later in 2018, the car was having some hesitation and struggled once it got up to temperature.
 O2 Sensor: Without troubleshooting, the o2 sensors were replaced since they were original to the car. Hesitation remained.
 Spark plugs and ignition coils: Similarly to the o2 sensors, the spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced as they were original to the car as well. Hesitation remained.
 Finally decided to troubleshoot. Based on fuel pressure reading low, the fuel pumps were identified to not be running to spec. Replaced both fuel pumps and the car has run without hesitation since.
- Headliner: The headliner on the painted top was sagging almost completely off the top. Replaced the headliner foam and material about 2 months ago.

Reason for selling: Long story short, I have 5 kids now (we do foster care and got placed with a sibling group). I haven?t been able to drive the car near as much as I would like. Due to the kids and COVID, it has only been driven for a few miles every couple of months over the last year. I don?t see my driving habits changing anytime soon, so the Corvette is going up for sale.

What comes with the sale:
- 1990 Corvette ZR-1 with A-Mold replica wheels
- Original wheels (These have some curb damage from a previous owner that should be repaired prior to use. See pictures.)
- 2 tops: Clear (blue tint) and painted black
- 2 ignition keys, 1 door unlock key, 3 power keys (not sure why previous owner had so many)
- Original stereo (not operable) and associated CDM
- Brand new secondary vacuum lines. I saw a NOS set on Ebay at one point and decided to buy as a proactive measure. But the original lines have held vacuum with no issues.
- Brand new set of plenum gaskets. Can be used for next time the plenum needs to be removed for any purpose.

Please see the pictures that have been provided and feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you!
