The C4 and the C8 can be compared, just base car to base car.....Both were radical departures for their time. Both created a huge amount of buzz and sales for GM. The C4 had new amounts of tech and it was a world beater at the time. Just like the new C8 will be. And when GM got around to giving the C4 a hotter model, we all know how that turned out I see a lot of similar things about the launch of the base C4 and C8.
