Hi Atari--
If you have seen pristine 95s with lower mileage selling for under $30k I suggest you buy one. In 2011 and 2012 I searched for almost a year to end up with my 21,000 mile '95 and even back then I was in it about $33k by the time it was shipped here and serviced to make it truly drivable. Recently a less than 6,000 mile stock '95 sold to a member in the low to mid $40s, which auction numbers seem to support, although I have seen a few sell in the $30s. It had a few issues that had to be dealt with, but overall a good condition car.

The value of modifications has two components: initial cost and value to you. If you don't want to modify your car for better performance, they have no value to you. The modifications I have include a number of bolt-ons and certain internal engine modifications. The Haibeck 350/510 HP package is well known to Net Registry members. Go to Marc Haibeck's website (http://www.zr1specialist.com/ ) to understand what a 350/510 HP package consists of and what its cost is. Engine was also refinished, Hurst short throw shifter,4.10 gears and electric exhaust cutouts just ahead of the mufflers were installed. The internal engine modifications cannot be reversed; most others can be without much effort. Marc performed an extensive servicing when I first got it and has serviced ever since. Certain engine compartment items, like secondary vacuum pump and plumbing, EGR and AIR systems, were removed but retained for future use or sale. My total investment is around $55k. But it is for one of the best driving, most enjoyable, most reliable and durable cars I have ever owned.

I think the best advice I can offer is to clearly define what you want in a ZR-1 and pursue the one with those characteristics to get the best price you can. That's what I did; then I modified it to my taste. I personally do not want to give away such a great car, even though I am obviously (by my current asking price) willing to just about give away all the performance modifications. There is really no way to "discuss it without mods" although I can direct you to Marc as to how he can replace items to provide a more completely stock engine compartment appearance and emissions compliance. If you decide my car is the one you would like I would be happy to talk with you about it. If not, I certainly wish you luck in your search. --Bob
