Need help w/ wiper motor

I just purchased a 1990 Red ZR1 #2599. Was referred to this site from another ZR owner at the CCDV. Just sent in my check yesterday should be a full member here soon. I followed the threads in tech data to wiper motor removal, but for some reason that's the only thread where nothing comes up when I click on it(may have been removed). Anyway, I just noticed the wipers only come up @ 1" then go back down, I assume (you know what they say about that) the motors are shot, or maybe if I get them out, I can take a part the motor and see what's wrong. Problem is the wiper arms don't come up far enough for me to get the one screw out. I don't want to just rip the arm up and make things worse. Any suggestions or tips on how to fix the wipers?
