Default She runs great, my five-oh-eight!

In anticipation of the 4th annual Crown Point Corvette Challenge (see East Central for details), Ami and I took the Z out to get lunch and to blow the carbon outta the ol gal. The air was quite cool - and boy howdy(!) did that shift light ever come on quick!! (Reminds me...I must get the rev limiter bumped to 7500 before Sunday - cuz she wuz still haulin' the mail when it was time to shift, and the motor was tellin' me "awww...no way, not yet!" All "508" ponies came out to play, it seems)

Sure am looking forward to getting together with the FBI gang and some of the other East Central Region ZR-1 drivers ON SUNDAY NEXT WEEK (at the No Limit Raceway see East Central page for details). I'm looking forward to seeing some of those closed deck LT5s run. I'd love to see that traveling trophy come home to hang out with the FBI gang - or any Z club, just as long as it isn't one of those C5/6 clubs again . (I'm so tired of seeing it go to those Chicago clubs that turn in three car aggregates in the 12.2 to 12.4s!) If Bob, Kevin, Al come with their big inch LT5 cars, and with Marc, Dom, and maybe even me getting into very low 12s as backup, it is possible to run up an agg for the top 3 in the 11s! THAT would be a new record for this event and put THE MARK OF Z on their minds, for sure!!

So far it looks like -
  1. Marc
  2. Al
  3. Bob G
  4. Dom
  5. Jim McCarty
  6. Pete (tho may still be breaking in his newly overhauled motor, but come anyway)
  7. and me

Still haven't heard from Lee
or Kevin C
or Kenny W
or Phil
OR ANY OF THE INDIANA GANG...(WHAT UP W/ DAT??)

I thought maybe if one of us had a teenage daughter, we could have a cheerleader at the event. I asked Pete if we could borrow his pom-poms and tights, but he refused. He said that's his slot, if his car isn't ready to race on Sunday. (I just hope he shaves his legs and chest before getting out there in his outfit..."GIMME A Z! GIMME AN R! GIMME A ONE! GIMME A ZR-1!!)

Do we know how to have fun or what???

P.
