Removing TB Butterfly Plate Screws
Overhauling a used TB and looking for good tips on the best way to remove the butterfly plate screws without making a mess of things. It appears the backside of the screws that extend through the throttle shaft heve been subject to some kind of locking treatment.
Thanks, Phil |

Re: Removing TB Butterfly Plate Screws
I did this a few weeks ago..I messed up the thread on both when unscrewing them. The back does have a large button to lock it down which end up shredding the the thread when you unscrew it. When i put mine back i use a longer screw and hold it with a locking nut at the back with red thread locker. Its not professional but it work. But don't take my advice though. Before removing it maybe you can grid down the lock so it doesn't mess up when you remove the screw.
