It was probably so that the all the stuff in the wheelwells and under the car would not be visible in the photos, since Eric's car was originally purchased by the advertising division of GM.

Eric,

That is a lot of work, I know, I've done it to mine. Seriously, get some of Adam's Invisible undercarriage spray for those now. You will be surprised at how much it helps.

Keep the posts coming, I love this.

Thanks a lot.

In for a nickle in for a dime...instead of covering everything with a spray ect. might as well take it apart to detail and touch everything up. It is far easier to clean and detail, takes less time, does a more thorough job and it is only nuts and bolts...the odd screw.

good tip, This one unfotunately will not get driven much and AZ is very dry so it should stay pretty clean. I originally thought that the blackout was for pictures, but I since learned that the VOCO school painted it. It appears to have at least 2 resprays. Bright red, then the metallic blue. Whoever painted it red did not mask the wheel wells. There was a lot or overspray. Their solution was to cover the red with black. Then it was painted blue. There is some (not as much as the red) blue overspray. This was also covered with another coat of black. When I remove the black there is a layer of black, some blue, another layer of black then some red then the natural finish. The trick is remove the four coats but not the fifth. Luckily I have done this a few times before. mechanical removal is always first, Putty knife/soft wire brush, then use removers. I pressure wash the parts that can be removed (wheel tubs and inner fenders) then repeat. I will keep posting until I stop forward progress. Hopefully that will not be for a long time.

You can show off your detailing skills in BG this year. It's really beginning to clean up nicely. Can't wait to see it in person.

Sure, but you have to bring it to me... With both Keys! Every wheel well detail requires a 500 mile test, leak evaluation drive. In order to determine what type of cleaning solutions need for the rear half shafts both sets of injectors must be engaged.

Sure I will bring you the door key and ignition key

Wow.. 500 miles for each wheel well, that (unfortunately) is more mile then I put on it last year
