Mrs Voter = Lyndi. She enjoyed making it for us. Her comment was: "Let'em hang out in the garage and throw food in the door every now and then."

Great news about the car's handling! It is not suprising that the alignment was affected based on the condition of those bushings.

Also thanks for the extra parts. They will be available to anyone who needs them in the WAZOO Parts Inventory/Cache.

Thanks for being the "keeper of future nonperishable parts".
I propose, with your approval of course, that we replace parts with new (i.e. Rich's water pump) as long as they are available and relatively cheap and stash away serviceable parts for future. I have thrown away so many parts, new and used, sometimes simply because I no longer owned the car and learned of regrets.
especially parts for LT5, sooner or later, will become very tough to get. If we can't make a fortune on the car, may be we can make fortune on the used parts 20 years later!

Thanks Jim for hosting another excellent ZR-1 maintenance day event and a special thanks to Lyndi for fixing us up the Mac & Cheese lunch.
It was great seeing everybody who made it.
Sorry Rich about the replacement water pump turning out to be a bummer.
And congratulations Yun for the successful shock and A-arm change out.

Shame about Rich.... I have heard of some of these Water Pumps not being correct, but not for years!

Damn Napa! Congrats to Yun! Too tight to help him out and he did it with precision too.....

2 weeks before another Maintenance day and maybe we can do the Red 90's Trans Jim?

Thanks for hosting Jim!

Yes, Thanks Lyndi for the Mac & Cheese, it was great! Thanks Jim for all the help and the use of garage and propane! Oh yeah, and the loner car too , drives great
Thanks Phil, well valuable lesson learned for me, no rebuilds. If David strike out with George and I buy a pump, I may try and disassembe the old one, see what is involved in rebulding one of these.
Good job Yun, at least you we successful.
Rich

Thanks, Phil.
You have no idea muscle pains I am experiencing today. No pain, no gain has a new meaning for me this morning.
Nonetheless, it was a great fun and certainly a rewarding and a learning experience.

Rich and/or Bob,

How about starting a thread in the tech section about that water pump. It was clear to me from looking at it, that the water pump we tried to install was not a "rebuilt" water pump. No part of it was an original casting. It was a knock-off copy, poorly done. Many other people could benefit from our experience.

I was so wore out from crawing under the hood I forgot to snap some pictures of the other pump.

Bob, can you snap a couple (front and back) and email them to me rmuhr1@verizon.net. Once I get my old pump back from David, I will clean up and snap some of the old pump and do a side-by-side in a thread.
Rich

The rest of the story....

When Rich and I got my '90 out for Rich to drive home, the left front tire was flat as a pancake due to a nail. So we swapped out the wheel with one of my 1993 spare set. So the "high end" loaner car looked kind of funny with 3 '90 wheels and a shiny sawblade.
