Default Refinishing Rotors

I have the Baer Eradispeed slotted/drinked zinc coated rotors on the Z now.

Previously I had nice slotted rotors on the rear that only had about 200 miles on them. I inadvertently left them in the garage and they got rusted up pretty good. I've started to refinish them.

Here is step # 1 - Looks like a big sewer plant

Did you "machine" the rotors first before you "zinced" them?

So...they are zinc plated? How does that wear as I would think you would wear right through the zinc plating

I think hes refering to his Baer eradispeeds and the removable aluminum highhats with the staineless bolts which are zinc washed like mine and not the aftermarket rotors he has in the poop bucket

You are correct, had my Eradispeeds for 4 years now and they are in perfect shape. Then again, they are over $1,000 so they are not cheap. However, I would recommend them highly - they are worth every penny and look good. I had a set for a C5 but I sold them before I actually owned a C5, wish I had kept them now.

These are good rotors but obviously they were never zinc coated in the past.

My neighbors think I'm cooking up meth

Rather than put rotors in a poop bucket I would think it is time to "turn" them......LOL

Yep they are pricey especially for both front and rears but I am very happy with mine so far. GC

The face of the rotor is the least of my problem. When I am done, I will have removed all the rust from everywhere on the rotor and stopped the current process of rusting completely.
