Default More on Z06 Wheels

Had a chance today to go over to my friend Pete (not ZR-1) and try on his OEM Z06 wheels from his 2007 car. He has a silver Z.
Here's the album. Comments please.

looks good, if you go that route, you need to lower the car a bit to make it look perfect

Looks fantastic, gives the car a more up to date look. Needs lowered.
I may have to do that when I'm employed again.

Uummm...not sure . I mean I like the wheels, always have but on the Zee, tires kinda look like rubber bands in some pics, as stated on here maybe lowering would help that look out a bit . I'm not much help. Like the color of your car, BTW .

Brad,

Those are 18x9.5/19x12. With a .5" spacer I think the rears would line up nicely and everything clears. Even with no spacer the only issue is a brake line that could easily be modified. The fronts are 40mm offset but there's a ton of clearance. The tires stick out ever so slightly. Almost a non issue IMO.
If this could work out, then it opens up the availablility of buying all those OEM wheels and tires the C6 crowd is selling.
Any comments on CompGrey color?

I still think the best bet is to get an aftermarket front wheel and the use the back factory wheel with a spacer.

Jeff,

Logically speaking I agree with you, however, aesthetically, the difference is nearly a non issue. I would buy a good set of OEM wheels, possibly tires with them, use a 1/2" spacer on the rears, then go on my merry way. Bob's car is clearly "slammed" while mine clearly is not. I would look to lower mine by about .5-.75"

True, that is one problem with going to bigger wheels when you are slammed. I just think it looks funky out of the fender lines, plus the extra debris kicked up will chew up the lower panels.
